Caraíva - Descobrimento Coast

Caraíva is a secluded paradise with entry to the pataxó indian reservation, that is 6km from the Monte Pascoal National Park. The place owns an area of rich natural beauty. Access to the village is possible only by canoe and cars are not allowed to enter. The beaches are calm with clear waters and can be traveled on foot, by boat or horseback. Caraíva still preserves unspoiled beaches surrounded by cliffs, coconut palms, Atlantic Forest and crystalline waters. The beaches fascinate tourists by its beauty like Espelho beach, that is a natural harbour of corals and reefs. How to get there It's 796km from Salvador - Overland By car: leaving from Salvador by the BR-101 (road), go through Itamaraju, Monte Pascoal, at km 753, and then turn right. Stop at a gas station to fill up before entering the dirt road. It's a two-hour trip and it's safer to go during the day, because it's desert. Arriving in Nova Caraíva, keep the car in the parking lot and cross the river by canoe. By bus: daily buses depart from Eunápolis Bus Terminal. - Sea Cross by ferry-boat and then take 62km through Arraial d'Ajuda and Trancoso on dirt road until Nova Caraíva.
