Praia do Forte is located in the city of Mata de São João and is known as "Brazilian Polynesia". There are so many entertaining things to do there that is hard to choose what place to start exploring. The local has 12km of beaches delimited by dunes, coconut palms, natural pools, a historic ranch that have Garcia D'Ávila castle, Sapiranga reserve and Pojuca river. Besides those wonderful sights, the people live there with a distinct enthusiasm and receive tourists with open arms. Praia do Forte also has good structure.
How to get there
- Overland
Leaving from Salvador Bus Terminal, there are 19km until the airport. After that, take Estrada do Coco (BA-099 road). The distance from there to the entrance of Praia do Forte is 34 km. The access is through Linha Verde's km 1, right after the end of Estrada do Coco. Then it's necessary to go through 1,5 km until the village.
